No Internet

Follow the steps as PC (Desktop). If the problem is with Bradford’s security, then get a cup of coffee, have a seat, & read every detail. Before taking any of these actions note. DON’T agree to legal agreements that will appear on the screen, unless it’s our computers. For liability reasons we can not, so have the owner perform these steps. Now that we got the legal terms out of the way, lets get you some background information. The Bradford security is a safety measure for wireless connections. They are technically connected but the program blocks them unless certain specifications are met. Example would be the anti-virus software. If it’s not up to date or the preferred software on the list, then Bradford wouldn’t allow access. When this happens a link opens up stating “you fail because the virus software if you don’t have an antivirus program feel free to download the free program available.” Once downloaded try it again. The results of the requirement test is usually detailed in its reason. Most of the time there is nothing wrong. When the requirement test passes a message tells the person to restart the browser. This is an error! You have to restart the computer, when that’s done the full Internet access will be given. For any questions call 686-1400.

To use laptop

with podium Most classrooms come equipped with desktop computers inside the main podium or cart. If the professors need to use their laptop, then use the spare VGA cable labeled laptop. If no VGA can be found you may need to find one and improvise (will explain in part two of this chapter). Once the VGA (Laptop) is connected below the podium, check for a switch box that looks like (Diagram 1.5). The switch has two buttons displayed. The first button is labeled desktop, the second is laptop. Press laptop to switch the signal. 2nd method is to find a Spare VGA cable, or swap one from a doc cam. An example would be when i have to connect a professor’s laptop in Smart room 309. There is no spare VGA cables in the room. To connect the laptop just unplug the cable from the VGA out slot in the document camera. The document signal will override the computer signal & display the laptop. When class is finished, connect everything back & test the equipment.
